G.A.T.E. Academy
Gifted and Talented Education
The G.A.T.E Academy meets once a month to further enhance the experiences of our gifted and talented students. Meetings are after school from 2:10-3:10 pm with Mrs. Barksdale, G.A.T.E. Coordinator.
The Academy meetings vary in topics and teachers, and is engaging for all students. Students will be assigned projects that will be shared at monthly meetings. There are extension activities to further connect between home and school. This year there will be more of an emphasis on student portfolios and work saved via One Drive. Students will be able to access their work in class and at home.
In order to participate, a permission slip must be signed by a parent or guardian every year, and turned in at the first class.
