Dear VanderMolen Students and Families,
It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of Vandermolen Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this amazing school with such amazing students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. I feel very fortunate to be part of this school and to support the students and families. My official start date at VanderMolen is Wednesday, July 1st but Mr. Barnes and I have been working hard already to make for a smooth transition.
I am entering my 21st year in education and have worked with students ranging in age from Kindergarten through 8th grade in a variety of roles. I have taught in grades ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade. I have also served as both an elementary and intermediate assistant principal. For the past 7 years I have served as principal of Lincoln Fundamental Elementary. I am thrilled and excited to continue to serve at Vandermolen Elementary School and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.
On a personal note, I live in Corona and have three daughters. My oldest daughter will be a sophomore at Centennial HS, my middle daughter will be an eighth grader at CFIS, and my youngest will be a 6th grader at Lincoln. We love the CNUSD community and all it has to offer.
I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn much about the uniqueness of VanderMolen this year and in the years to come. Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible. I look forward to meeting you soon!
Sincerely,
Mr. Brian Leedy
Proud Principal
